There’s no place like Hyem
We’re Kev and Nic, a married couple and founders of Hyem, a small artisan business making natural, hand-made scented candles. If you’re fluent in Geordie, you’ll know that ‘hyem’ means home. And home means everything to us.
Our business was born on the kitchen worktop of our home in Northumberland in 2020. Kev’s curious mind, coupled with a shared love of quality scented candles, got us thinking: could we create something even better than we were buying? One of the upsides of Lockdown was that it gave us the ideal opportunity to find out.
We spent months researching methods, trialling scents and materials, and developing a range of blended candles we’d be proud to have in our home. Candles that could ignite the senses, stir the soul and create the perfect mood.
We want every candle to be perfect. So we only produce small batches and every single one is rigorously tested, weighed, poured, labelled and stored with complete care. And all of the methods and materials we use are sustainable, ethical and environmentally friendly. Because that’s important to us too. We hope you enjoy our candles as much as we do.
